On August 12, 1972 there was a game to remember for Mets fans as they battled for 2nd place in the NL East at Wrigley Field

Number 41 is “The Franchise” - pitcher Tom Seaver. And Willie Mays is 41 years old but still playing centerfield like the Say Hey Kid… sometimes.

Both of them were in classic form “yesterday” afternoon at Wrigley Field in Chicago. And so were other Mets stars Tommie Agee and Tug McGraw.
